Friday’s Links

Confession: Some of these were sent to me by you.  So, thank you to those who sent me links this week!

As I’m preparing to run a 10-mile Obstacle Course in October called the urbanathlon, this article caught my eye.  Running is difficult, but running in a habit makes it even more difficult.  I guess the cause of helping orphans might nullify any hindrance that a funny outfit might have on your race pace!

Having just had to deal with a church building decision that is completely out of your control and someone that wanted to renegotiate a contractual agreement of payment, I’ve been praying for Newspring Community Church and their SMT.  This is a crazy story.  After you read it, I invite you to pray for them too!

I’m sure you’ve seen this story floating through the media.  I’m not sure how I feel about the government forcing treatment, but I definitely know how I feel about a boy’s mom refusing treatment for the removal of a deadly disease.  I see this everyday as people reject Jesus’ atoning sacrifice.  It’s a guaranteed cure for a nature that’s corrupt and guaranteed to kill, and yet, people reject it and refuse it all the time.  Perhaps it’s presentation or maybe it’s pride, but whatever it is, I don’t get it!  Kid, take the chemo!  People, take the salvation!

AND, here we go again.  You want to know why prostitutes have a high HIV risk?  It’s because they’re prostitutes.  How about taking that $178K and buying one of them off of the streets and starting a program of rehabilitation for Thailand’s prostitutes?  Maybe HIV would start to decline! BTW, aren’t we in a recession in AMERICA?

Finally, I’ve saved the best for last.  It’s always a good thing to catch up with Coach Mark Richt.

Enjoy.  If you see any interesting articles next week, pass them on!
